It’s main islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu , which account for 87% of the population, are surrounded by the south pacific ocean and are southwest of Hawaii and northeast of Sydney. Fiji itself is a archipelago*, with more than 330 islands making up the country. The many river systems that run through fiji’s mountainous terrain are used for transportation, thus big factories were built on major rivers like Rewa.
