Charlotte’s Web written by E

Charlotte’s Web written by E.B. White is a very popular children’s book, and even adults still read it. There is a pig named Wilbur, and a spider named Charlotte. The farmer in the book raised the pigs and other animals for slaughter. He felt incapable to kill the animals that he loved. Wilbur the pig came down with a sickness, the farmer couldn’t bring himself to slaughter him, so he brought the little pig back to health.
E.B. White always wanted to become a writer. “He worked for the United Press International and the American Legion News Service in 1921 and 1922 and then became a reporter for the Seattle Times in 1922 and 1923″ White E.B. Authors and Artists for Young Adults. 28 Oct. 2018.” He then wrote “Defense of the Bronx River” 2 years after being a reporter for the Seattle Times. White died in 1985 and he was known as a “contributing editor in 1927, that association was up and running until his death.” White E.B. Authors and Artists for Young Adults.
The children’s book Charlotte’s Web is on the banned book list in multiple example, some people in Kansas were saying “talking animals are blasphemous and unnatural; passages about the spider dying were also criticized as being “inappropriate subject matter for a children’s book.” Baldassarro Wolf R. “Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White” Banned book awareness. Another reason that Charlotte’s Web is now on the banned book list is because people are saying it is disdainful to God to give animals an ability that only humans have.
While the book does include animals talking, it is only a children’s book. They do not care if the animals are supposed to be talking or not. Many children have read this book throughout school. According to the banned book awareness “Charlotte’s Web is an award winning novel published in 1952”. When the book was finally published it sold over 45 million versions. Now that has to be a good book to sell that many copies. It is good for children to have a good imagination, and with Charlotte’s Web having animals that talked that was a good way to trigger the imagination in a child.
