Dementia is a decline in cognitive function, a person with dementia may suffer from two or more mental impairments in brain functions such as, memory loss, thinking, or language.
It is common for a person’s behaviour to change, depression, frustration and anger are all too normal for someone suffering from dementia. This is common if a person is suffering from frontotemporal dementia, as they lose a sense of inhibition.
A dementia sufferer will experience physical changes to the structure of the brain, making it not be able to function properly. Neurological functions change due to a loss in brain cells and a change in the quantity of chemicals in the brain. In some cases with changes to the neurological system, physical signs may develop such as shaking.
